Chronology

The Bible is divided into two major divisions. These divisions are composed of documents written Before Common Era (BCE) and those written at the beginning of what is known as the Common Era (CE).

Of the documents known as the Old Testament, we can read about them in the NT book in 1 Cor. 10:11, “Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for OUR admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.” As the events of Old Testament history are read and studied, we find unlimited opportunities for learning many valuable lessons of history. We must keep in mind that the NT was written to a special audience, you can verify it in the first few verses in most of the books. The Plan for mankind is being executed on a time table which only The Father manages.

In this section, a chronology of the Bible is provided outlining a time line of major events recorded in the OT and the NT writings. These dates are validated with known Scriptural events and secular history to provide the best accuracy possible. It is possible for some of these dates to vary slightly; however they fit within the collaborative resource information. Each reader is encouraged to check the events and dates personally to attain his own comfort.
