“What is the Biblical Archaeology Foundation (BAF), and
Who Is Involved?”

BAF is a private foundation founded by Marvin & Renetta Wilson dedicated to share information and research which validates the literal messages recorded in the Bible. BAF leverages the support from specialists and experts to achieve the mission of BAF. It is also our belief that a serious study of the Bible is significantly enhanced by traveling to the ancient lands where Biblical history was written. That is why we sponsor tours through the lands of Israel, Jordan, Egypt, Greece and Turkey. Historical and Biblical information is shared through these tours and specific seminars are provided which detail the literal messages recorded in the Bible.

With Biblical Scripture proclaiming itself as being “Truth” given under inspiration from the Living Creator and also challenges the reader to “Prove All Things,” BAF believes that only through education and a sincere desire to understand Truth can validation be achieved. This need is compounded by the fact that most people have never read nor studied the Bible in order to understand what it “literally” says. Even fewer people have ever taken to the time to “Prove” for themselves whether their own beliefs are Bible based! BAF is dedicated to present the “literal” message of the Bible and share evidence, both from archeology and secular history, which proves the veracity of Scripture.

Introduction

We can all agree that we live in a world where many proclaim their belief in the Bible, yet there is little consensus of the teachings (Torah) contained in the Bible. This is more than evidenced by the existence of myriad religious groups proclaiming themselves to have the correct understanding of The Scriptures.

The Bible reveals that indeed there is a Divine Creator which did place mankind on the earth for a specific purpose. This Divine Creator also gave to mankind certain principles and rules to live by that produce happiness, success and ultimately a promise of eternal life. Breaking these principles and rules produce curses that ultimately result in eternal death. This Divine Creator is a loving and caring being, and yet, gives mankind the option to choose, either to obey His direction or not. This choice is an individual responsibility which requires knowledge AND belief (described in Scripture as “Faith”). This weighty decision mandates intelligent choice! Individually, we are ALL required to synthesize all aspects of reality, then choose whether or not to believe and adhere to Scripture. The Bible is a literal historical document containing Truth, literally a “Handbook” for directing human life.

We believe that the first and most important aspect of studying the Scriptures is to become acquainted with the Divine Creator. To learn who He is, What His true name is, what His character is, who His Son is and for what purpose They created mankind. The Bible does teach us these things.

Hebrew Names Used In Scripture

BAF uses the literal Hebrew names and titles for the Divine Deities to which man is commanded to worship and serve (Mat. 4:10; Luke 4:8; John 5:23). Also, in order to present the “literal” meaning of Scripture, references will be directed to word meanings in the original languages used in the Old Testament (Hebrew & Chaldean) and the New Testament (Greek) documents.

While there may be disagreements among readers that hold diverse views and beliefs, WE ALL have access to the SAME Hebrew and Greek manuscripts from which so many translations have been derived. WE ALL can read the literal words which have been recorded down through history. [If you do not have an Interlinear Bible, check the “Merchandise” tab.] WE ALL then find ourselves in the same position which Adam and his wife Eve (Chavvah) found themselves in the garden of Eden. We can either believe the literal words that were spoken and recorded, or, we can literally choose to decide for ourselves to NOT BELIEVE that Biblical instructions MEAN WHAT THEY SAY and are TRUTH. To reiterate, The All Powerful and Loving Creator who fashioned mankind after His own image HAS GIVEN MAN THE CHOICE to obey or not to obey His instructions.

BAF Mission Statement

“Provide A Missing Dimension In Biblical Education. This Dimension Highlights The “Truth” Of Scriptures Through Archaeological Validation Without Religious Bias Or Deviation.”

“Searching For Truth Through Education” provides the methodology to achieve the Mission Statement. “Education,” as the Webster’s New Twentieth Century Dictionary (Unabridged) defines it is, “education: the process of training and developing the knowledge, skill, mind, character, etc. especially by formal schooling, teaching, training.” This process is a Scripture based principle upon which we ALL should live our lives. Education does not always insure that which is learned is always Truth. Our focus is that “Truth” must be the value ingredient we most seek after. What we do with it after we find it is the next hurdle. Referencing the words given by the Messiah in John 4:23-24 “[23] But the hour comes, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeks such to worship Him. [24] God [Yahweh] is a Spirit: and they that worship Him MUST worship Him in Spirit and in Truth.”

Our vision of this “Missing Dimension” is found in John 17:17 “Your Word Is Truth….” The underlying principle of BAF is inveterate in these words. We are to “Study to show yourself approved unto Yahweh, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of Truth.” (2 Tim. 2:15)

A Resource In The Search For Truth

The Biblical Archaeology Foundation (BAF) is intended to serve as a resource for those who sincerely wish to search for the “Truth of Scriptures.” After we find and understand “Truth,” we then can find answers to life’s most vital questions.

Is There Is A Divine Creator?!

While history records innumerable examples of man’s endeavor to worship “something” or “someone” greater than himself, the real proof always concludes with undeniable and direct evidence of a super-intelligent Creator. Unfortunately, in certain instances we have also observed mans ignominious attempt to set himself up as a “god” to be worshipped. A FACT of REALITY clearly exposes an immense and incredible existence of life on this earth that could have only have come from a super intelligent Creator! Scriptures state that this Creator set in motion unfailing laws that sustain life. Scriptures also state important instructions for mankind along with a proven record of his existence and the foretelling of his future. The culmination of these instructions is first, mankind is to recognize and show proper reverence to this Divine Deity as man’s Creator, Lawgiver, Sustainer, Healer, Protector and Loving Parent. The second most important instruction given is for mankind to love his fellow man as himself. Refer to study articles “Proof Of a Divine Creator,” and “The Purpose of Mankind.”

Is The Bible Is Inspired And Provable?

Archaeology provides evidence which substantiates the Biblical message of a Divine Creator and the true history of man. The Historical evidence can be much better understood clearly when the filters are removed from the literal message of scripture. Many don’t fully understand that there are major obstacles to understanding truth when reading most Scriptural texts. By only reading translations of Scripture, and not verifying with an interlinear Bible, we are reading the opinions of the translators. We should understand the majority of the content in our translations are accurate; however, there are many proven mistranslations in our English Bibles. Another major obstacle we must address is that of proving that much of the New Testament was originally written in Hebrew. Many direct quotes exist from the Old Testament that provide comparisons and insight into these translation issues.

This brings us to explain that Information on this website is “religious” in content ONLY to the extent of the technical definition of the word. Scriptures proclaim that a Supernatural Deity created and governs the Universe and that The Bible, as His inspired Word, is THE BASIS for TRUTH. The intent of this website is to present All information with a literal focus on the original language conveyances recorded in the Bible. There are no denominational slants or evangelistic thrusts derived from various translations or myriad religious groups are reflected. The pre-eminent intent is to present FACTS supported by the literal message of Scripture and/or archaeological evidence. The Divine Elohim Beings which scripture states as being the Creator of man in Their image and who has given him dominion over every living thing on the earth, is an accepted FACT. What DoesThe Bible literally say?

The Bible is a very unique record of human history. Not only does it acclaim Itself to be the source of Truth (John 17:17 “Your Word Is Truth, Sanctify Them Through Your Truth.”), and challenges the reader to Prove it’s Authenticity (1 Thess. 5:21 “Prove All Things; Hold Fast That Which Is Good.”), it interprets itself. Scriptures are used as the basis of establishing the premise of TRUTH paramount to ALL other documents and theories. As we have stated, all information is filtered and analyzed for conformity with the literal recorded testimony as it is presented in the Hebrew for the OT, and in the Greek for the NT. The foundational premises for FACT is “…there is no lie of the truth,” (1 John 1:21) and, there can be NO private interpretation, “Knowing this first, that no prophecy (inspired speaking) of the scripture is of any private interpretation.” (2 Peter 1:20). Scripture, NOT MAN, MUST interpret scripture! Archaeology, in additional to fulfilled prophecy, provides the physical evidence which verifies and proves the veracity of Scripture.

The Bible embodies itself as the Inspired Word of the Divine Deity that created man (2 Tim. 3:16 “All scripture is given by inspiration of Yahweh, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:). Scripture also states this Divine Deity, in addition to being the Creator of ALL things, is the Source of Law and Authority (Isaiah 45:12 “I have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, even My hand, has stretched out the heavens, and all their host have I commanded.”). These same Scriptures literally record the Divine Purpose for mankind (Genesis 1:26 And Elohim said, Let US make man in OUR image, after OUR likeness:…; 1 Cor. 15:44 …There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.; 1 Cor. 15:46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.; John 17:2-3 As You have given Him (Messiah) power over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as You have given Him. [3] And this is life eternal, that they might know You the only true Elohim, and Yahshua Messiah, whom You have sent.).

We MUST UNDERSTAND there are stated CONSEQUENCES from the CHOICES we make. Scripture records the choice given to the ancient Israelites before they went into the land of Canaan in Deut. 30:19, “I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore CHOOSE life, that both you and your seed may live:”

Also, at the end of Joshua’s rule in the Promised Land, he again presented to the Israelites a choice in Joshua 24:15, “And if it seem evil unto you to serve Yahweh, CHOOSE you this day whom you will serve; whether the Elohim which your fathers served that were on the other side of the river [Euphrates], or the Elohim of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve Yahweh.”

In ancient times Elijah also made some very direct statements to those pagan priests of Baal in Mount Carmel, “1 Kings 18:21 (KJV) And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt you between two opinions? if Yahweh be Elohim, follow Him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.” You can read the following verses in this chapter to see the results from their choice! It was not pleasant!

In the New Testament we also read the record written by the Apostle Paul in Romans 2:8-11, “[8] But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the Truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, [9] Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that does evil, of the Jew (Judean) first, and also of the Gentile (Helenist); [10] But glory, honor, and peace, to every man that works good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile: [11] For there is no respect of persons with Yahweh.”

Other Scriptures statements that give us insight into the importance of “Truth” are found in 2 Thess. 2:7-12 “[7] For the mystery of iniquity does already work: but now hold fast, until he be taken out of the way. [8] And then shall that wicked one be revealed, whom The Messiah shall consume with the spirit of His mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of His coming: [9] Even him (the son of perdition), whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, [10] And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the Truth, that they might be saved. [11] And for this cause Yahweh shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: [12] That they all might be judged who believed NOT the Truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.“

Our Challenge

BAF challenges the reader to prove for themselves the information and content provided in this website.

One of the most important aspect to understanding the message of Scriptures is to be knowledgeable of the compendium of recorded History, both secular and Biblical. There have been only about 6,000 years of recorded history of man on the earth, totally irrespective to that which evolutionist attempt to imply. A Biblical principle states that one day equals one thousand years (2 Pet. 3:8). Knowing this provides helpful insight to the prophetic time line in the Bible. There is an ending point for civilization governed by man as we know it. Scriptures record an intervention by The Divine Creator to institute divine rulership over the earth. There is a master plan and purpose being fulfilled for mankind.
